How do you determine trend direction?

When I see your analysis it is clear that what you do is not working for daytrading. So daytrading is not the problem, but your tradeplan is.
I also said it was my second short already. I did not go long after my first short as the trend was short and the bounce back had not enough potential and bad risk/reward to go long. You have to know which move to take and which one not. And that went clearly wrong for you.

If you think that chart reflected my analysis or trades, you completely miss the point here and my sarcasm. I do NOT perceive the market as annotated on that chart and it has no relevance to my private plan or methodology which I have no interest of sharing here.

in order to show you where is the trend on the chart, how it's defined etc etc, someone should expose to you (and the whole forum) a lot of proprietary info

what for?

just to prove a point?

you will be waiting for a long time...

I'm not interested in the opinion of people posting in this thread. Do you see me asking for advice?

No.

Wow !!!

Didn't see that while walking around the corner. Anything else you stated in this thread or elsewhere in other threads about trend analysis that does not reflect your analysis or is just sarcasm ?

I guess my point is this...what's wrong in stating its just sarcasm or really has nothing to do with your private plan/methodology in the same message post so that others understand considering your posts came across as if you were stating something for fact via your own personal experience.

Yet, to be fair, I did think it was odd how you was putting a lot of question marks on your chart to imply you were indeed "asking for advice" considering I've seen you post many times before and I don't remember seeing you do such before except for a few rare occasions where you indeed asked for advice.

P.S. If I'm not interested in the opinions of others...I tend not to get involved in the conversation...just saying.

Hard to identify irony and sarcasm on the internets, as people are in different moods and perspectives. It helps not taking everything too seriously! :p

Maybe it's just me, but I can't see how anyone could take that chart seriously? Come on. It should be obvious that it was a joke on behalf of the trend followers.

So, looking at the end of today you'll see this:

Down move, Up move, Down move, Up move, with a close at 3 points below the Open.

Was the trend down? Maybe. But you had a 5 point and 7 point up move in between.

The joke is in trying to identify trends intraday though. All your charts are from 1-1.5 days max, which hardly can be said to be very trendy.

If you want a real trend-joke (boring), post a chart where price consolidates for a year or two, and just continues sideways and loses liquidity... And who said the markets don't play pranks on people? :D

It never occurred to me that chart was anything but a joke. Call me open minded. :D

Oh and shame on you for trying to facilitate a discussion about trading! You were really trying to steal secrets! These are not pros you are dealing with here. LOL

I've seen many post charts or worst like that here at ET and they are extremely serious. Regardless, going forward, I'll be more careful about what I read and will just wait for the punch line...Ha Ha Ha.

Completely agree.
