How do you deal with being wealthy or suddenly having lots of money?

Quote from Cheese:

You plan your legitimate tax avoidance at every stage. I do not mean evasion or forms of evasion. I mean legal tax avoidance for your trading arrangements.

I will pay taxes where of course they are indirect: sales tax and various federal and state levies of which there are many. But I want to pay little or no income or corporation tax. I arranged my financial affairs very carefully and very seriously to achieve exactly that result.
:)

do tell...

All my donation money will go toward Greenpeace, ALF (Animal Liberation Front) and PETA - while I do not agree with everything these organization represent, they still act with best intentions instead of organizing dinner parties. People have it good enough already, protect the truly unprotected.

Did you donate any money to these groups in the last several years? Reason I ask is most people who say they are going to donate to them, dont. When they have a lot of money somehow they forget too.

Quote from Smart Money:
I've made a deal with God...

Why does God need to make deals? Everything already belongs to God.

That being said, i think I've found something (T.A.) that works and backtests well last week.

T.A. pretty much does not work and backtests have little value, especially "last week." You will understand this a few weeks to months from now. Most newbies chase after T.A., reinvent themselves 2, 3, 4, 50 times and then give up after blowing out...

fuckin' a! hahahahahahahah

Quote from Jesus:

I recently got filthy rich, here is the first thing I did.

My little nephew really wanted to go to disneyland, so I told him for his birthday I would take him there. But instead, I took him to an old burned-out warehouse on the shadey side of town. "Oh, no," I said. "Looks like Disneyland burned down."
He cried and cried, but I think that DEEP down, he thought it was a pretty good joke.
I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but then thought, nah. It was getting too late and I'm scared of darkness.

Long story short, he died of cancer.

I do love kids though. I am pretty good with kids too. Yesterday, my other nephew asked where rain comes from, and I thought a cute thing to tell him is, "God is crying." When he asked why God is crying, I told him, "Probably because of something you did."

How do you handle being wealthy?

I'm not there yet but I suppose it's best not to disclose it, just bitch & moan at the socially acceptable times and be worry free inwardly.

Quote from sub0:

I know just like the culture shock of being poor or losing lots of money, how do you deal with being wealthy or suddenly having lots of money? How has it effected you as a person?

I bring this up because I've read of all the traders here who mention trading has changed their life, they are independent, free and have found their way. Before that though they lived a certain lifestyle and now they live a new one. How do you deal with the change?

Like for example Neke who traded his account up from around $5k-10k to around $325k to now $700k and is shooting for $3.5 million. Sitting with a trading account at around $700k has to have a significant impact on you if you are coming from days when you had $5k-$10k.

I'm just wondering how some of you guys have dealt with the success, possibly even fast success? I would think it must feel unreal in many ways.
Hahaha

you still believe this peanuts to million threads?

Maybe you still believe in Santa Claus?

Hey! Don't pick on those Mega-Millions ticket buyers. He's probably buying thousands of tickets every month with his retirement savings. Somebody's got to win! :D

The user mentioning tax avoidance said it best, that's what I would do if I managed to make a ton of money suddenly. In fact I'm already picking out low tax countries that I'd like to live in if I suddenly became wealthy one day. I don't even know if I'm going to make a lot in trading but I've looked into it and quite honestly the chances of you making millions in trading is far higher than gambling or the lottery because you aren't relying on chance as much and the markets have a mind of their own and don't really bend to peoples' will.

More money will make you even MORE of what you already are....if you don't like who you are now more money will only magnify what you already see.

Figure yourself out real fast and get your $hit straight before you start making lots of money!

BTW, just ask Stevie and the boys about this one!!!
