I have managed to make a mess of my TWS windows and I would kind of like to start fresh. I can always mess it all up again later if I want it that way, right? But anyway, is there an easy way to do this?

I have not tried this, but it seems like it should work:
1. Run TWS
2. File-->Save Settings As
3. Note the folder that it wants to save the settings to
4. Exit TWS
5. Go to the settings folder
6. Make a backup of this folder somewhere else on your machine
6. Delete all tws*.xml files (like tws.xml, tws.Mon.xml, ...)
7. Run TWS
8. Did it work?
Good luck!

Local files all went away when I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 20.04 from scratch the day after the April 20 release. I don't know about on the server. I think I cleaned stuff up last year. Anyway it's gonna happen tomorrow.You may be able to restore to a previously good configuration using:
File-->Layout/Settings Recovery...
Delete your local tws.xml before starting up and then when it asks if you want to restore from a prior day, decline.
Nope. Same big mess.I have not tried this, but it seems like it should work:
