How about NMX?

RFOL - i didnt mean to get off topic, but man, the law of supply and demand never ceases to amaze me & its relevant for other scenarios, not just an IPO debut. See what happens when people trip over themselves trying to get something??

If you do a "phone book" ended auction search, you will find that they were legitimately fetching $2500-$5000 all day long. Amazing

These guys were fools. I will NEVER pay $3000 or even $600 for a Playstation. It doesnt matter if I have a billion dollars or a thousand dollars. It wont happen.

The feeling of getting ripped a new one outweighs all other emotions. Im not going to let some hack sell me a Playstation out in a cold parking lot for 3k. I would rather wait until after Christmas and have the feeling of getting a deal then feeling like I got ripped off.

When you have come so far and devoted so much work to wheeling&dealing, the thought of this tears the root of your soul...

It looks like the highest bids on ebay are at 1200

I completely concur. Nothing like the feeling of overpaying for something or worse getting ripped. Heck I dont need to buy a PS3 to feel like that. If I wanted that kind of feeling, all I would have to do is pay $85 for AAPL now when less than 4 months ago, I had a bunch at $54.75 but got stopped out of my position and never had the ballz to get back in.

I guess this might be too personal of a question for some, but does anyone really consider $180,000 to be a lot of cash?

For myself, throwing 2-300000 on a single trade is not unusual. When I look around NYC I see players who are much richer then myself all the time.

I suspect that there are guys who throw probably upwards of a million in a trade all the time. Actually, when I go back through the price/sales there are definately blocks being traded and sometimes they are not by big institutions like you might think, but by individuals.

It's all relative, but my point remains the same about what investment would have been required to make serious money off this trade (if you didn't get in on the $59 subscription price).

But, yeah - I'm in the midwest, so my $180,000 on a trade is probably worth $40,000 in NYC dollars. :p

Maybe I'll be running with bigger dogs, soon.

Cash if you bought 15k shares of NMX which I think you did would you feel any different on the direction if you only placed a 180k long. What are you going to do on Monday. WS and large brokerages, hedges think that your 180 is peanuts and others would think it was a solid amount. It is very relative.

Akuma.

BTW I am price shopping old PS2 for resale .... good time to buy soon .... normally I am a bottom fishing m/f but the NMX was for CAPTAIN OBVIOUS!!!!!!!

good point, goog scared enough people with dutch auction to make its IPO different from other IPOs.

Chipotle (CMG) surged 100% on the first day and still was 7-8% higher 3 days later. may NMX will do the same.
