Here is what you stated - "offer a medicare option with premiums based on income"
Any public plan where I have to pay more in PREMIUMS is a not starter.
You are claiming that the poor should pay nothing, but if I actually make money then I should be paying a premium each month. And the higher my income the higher my premium should be. Not even corporate plans work this way -- if your co-premium is $200 per month in a corporate plan then it is $200 per month for everyone from the mail room clerk to the CEO.
You already pay higher medicare deductions for your future medicare than those that make less than you.
