House Bill 757

The measure was met by outcries from major players in the business, tech and entertainment industries..."

It's interesting how heavy-handed pressure from big business is ok with the left if it's on their side. Corporate dominance is only a problem when it conflicts with the left's agenda, which increasingly it does not seem to.

These kinds of disputes are highly useful though, as they demonstrate to voters which pols have the backbone to stand up for their principles and which fold like lawn chairs. Here we see big business' slavish catering to the radical gay community clearly outweighed concerns for religious liberty.

Actually, the left has been the traditional resistance to corporate dominance, but now the right has a bunch of "white" folks pissed off about the economy for once and has had to come up with a way out of their traditional support of corporate dominance: "crony" capitalism.

I will say that while I agree with mostly with this, I will say in defense of the right, that the way that corporate America went in the back door into that right was through, you guessed it, religion and conservative principles that are camouflage for religious principles. These people don't give a rats ass about "the right" otherwise. It is why Trump gets crushed in Utah.

If it weren't for that, the right would never have achieved much mass to begin with. It is the same argument many here use against those on the left, that we need lot of poor people or we can't get enough votes for our candidates.

The whole thing is a mess of corruption and manipulation. Both parties are fracturing around core values, depending on whether they have a job or not. That is why I like the Bern, he is Independent of all this baggage.

My answer quote= To say character does NOT count- is saying God does not count.

If you have not read the book, Captain O, see the movie ''10 Commandments'';;
King of Egypt + hellish hosts get drowned in Red Sea!!
And in case of earthquake, DISREGUARD supreme court ruling on payer..................

you have noticed the flip side of the real problem.
the dems are no longer the opposition party they are part of one party.
they did resist corporate dominance in the 60s. ... but the nature of the dominance changed.

as far as washigton d.c. goes... its one party playing democrat vs republican kabuki.

It was once the bankers (the dems) vs oil, manufacturing and other corporations.
but now the bankers teamed up with silicon valley and they own both the dems and the republicans.

The problem is that there is no opposition party. Its just a political theater staged to fool democrats and some republicans into thinking there is real competition going on in Congress.

Its Kabuki theater with no real opposition party.
Democrats don't get what they really want... (single payer) and republicans don't get what they want.

We get shit sandwiches from the left and shit sandwiches from the right.

well said, there is an opposition party, but some have never voted, some always vote democrat, some vote republican or libertarian. They have plenty of voters, but no leaders who can unify this crazy bunch of non conformists.

I doubt any God gives a shit about a couple homo's getting married, and if he/she/it does I'd have to ask God, with all the other nasty shit going on in the world and THIS is your big problem?
