You posted me a source from a vegetarian site. Cool, I got it. I also get it that no group on earth of any political or religious spectrum wants to take ownership of Hitler. Yeah, I get that too. I also get that Hitler was a very complicated man and no amount of links you post will explain the true nature of who he was OK?

Having said that I can post 100 links that say Hitler was a Pagan, into the occult and in no way a Christian. You can post 100 links saying he is. So who wins? The guy who can post the most number of links? Gee nice. Sounds like a fun game to play.

So let me spend two minutes addressing something that you zealots fail to comprehend. Religion by itself is a set of beliefs. Someone that is religious is someone who acts on those beliefs. Two very different things. If I call myself Jewish, does that make me a Jew? Does it? I'm asking. What if I call myself a catholic? A baptist? A scientologist? What if I go to Catholic mass? Here is a trick question, what if I go to Catholic mass and a Jewish synagogue? What am I? What If my mother is a Jew and my father is a protestant? What am I? Come on, let me know.

In my humble opinion, people are how they live. If I live my life as a Christian, great, call me a Christian. If I live my life by a Muslim set of principles, great, call me a Muslim. If I commit genocide, I am most certainly not a Christian. Do you understand? If a man goes to Catholic mass and then goes home and beats his wife and kids, he is not a catholic. I don't care if he goes to church, prays every night, reads scripture before bed, he is not a catholic. By definition, Hitler is not a Christian. Hitler can say anything he wants to say and he certainly did to gain and control power. Much like our current President who runs around proclaiming his Christian faith every chance he gets to get those key swing votes in the purple states.

A politician will say anything to get elected. So you quoting Hitler doesn't work. I judge a man by his actions, not his words. Words are meaningless. You know this better then anyone on here just by participating on a site where half the people claim to be billionaires using a moving average crossover system. Doesn't make it so now does it?

See here's the thing Vhehn. The benefit of "being" something does not come from saying it, but by actually living your life by it. For example, say I call myself a vegetarian. Saying it provides no healthy benefits to me. But actually living my life as one in practice does. Do you follow? Calling myself an avid reader does not bring any knowledge to me by proclaiming it. The knowledge actually comes from READING! Pretty cool stuff huh? The same goes with being a Christian or any other religion. The benefit of actually being one does not come from saying you are one, the benefit comes from actually living your life like a christian. This is something you zealots fail to understand. It does not matter what we say but what we do. The benefit comes from the DOING. Not the SAYING.

So for the last time, was Hitler a Christian? NO!!!!!! Why? Because I have 100 links that say he wasn't? No idiot, he was not because he did not live his life as one.

PS. Please stop pretending like you were Hitler's close friend. Those closest to him knew little to nothing about the man.

you seem intelligent enough to understand that christians are able to justify any act,even murder, through some kind of bible verse. that is the beauty of christianity. the inspiration of the bible depends on the ignorance of the person reading it.

well, i do know the bible. debating thumpers does tend to make one rather short. willfull ignorance does get annoying after a while. after about the 50th time you get into this "hitler was an atheist thats why he murdered jews" argument you get tired of the bs.

i will throw you a bone. maybe we can agree that hitler was a professing christian but he was not acting in a manner that the jesus character would have approved of. agreed?

Well, Hitler professed a lot of things. I cannot and will not judge a man by his words alone. I concede the man said a lot of things in his life in order to control people. I'm certain at some point he said he believed in God or was a Christian. He probably also told people he was a kind, caring leader. A compassionate man that just wants the best for Germany. I'm sure he said at one point he had no desire to engage in military conflict after everything Germany went through in WWI. Yeah I'm certain the guy talked out of his ass on a regular basis.

And at no point Vhehn did I ever say or have I ever said that Hitler murdered Jews because he was an atheist. Again, being an atheist is also a belief system. And no, I don't think Jesus, Abraham, Muhammad or the Dali Lama would have approved of his actions. Not even L Ron Hubbard.

Vhehn, you are a liberal and you need to be careful of how you judge people. The discussion was also about fascism and what scares me is that people on the left who believe in absolutism sooner or later are going to act on it. And this is dangerous. It's not possible for a free thinker to be an absolutist. It's contradictory in nature. You are becoming the very thing you espouse. Be careful.

Hitler did not operate in the style of developing a socialist state. You say you will not judge a man by words alone yet his party was socialist in name only.
Industrialists were encouraged to profit. He banned labor unions.Those are not the actions of a socialist. When in power he did not use government to nationalize major key industries. When he did want to take control, Hitler used force through terror and dictorial military control. He did not apply increased government economic power through democratically elected legislature as all presidents must do today and have always had to.

Hitler was not a leftist not a rightist, not a socialist or a capitalist, not democrat or conservative.
He was a Nazi.
He was a genocidal mass murderer.

Sorry to inform you, but I did not compare anyone to Hitler. In fact, I made your point before you did. I also clearly stated you can't put Hitler into a neat little right or left box. He didn't have a box. Dictators rarely fit into a neat little box. Why? Because they are dictators! They can do whatever they want. They are not confined by the boxes that a democracy usually puts people in.

Any by the way Stu, no "ism" is all in one box either. All "ism's" are blended with others. So trying to point out one aspect that doesn't fit perfectly with the style does not mean you throw the whole thing out. It just means we don't live in a black and white world, rather shades of gray.
