I am all in favor of immediate and intense efforts to impeach Trump right now and there are several congressional types who have that in motion.
On the other hand, no less than Nancy Pelosi is adamantly opposed to it along with some other hard core loons.
See if you are smart enough to know why that is.

Pelosi knows that they don't have the goods on him or the votes that is why she does not want them to go

I don't think the Democrats what to get rid of Trump until Jan 2021. He is the "Republican" of their dreams! and the President from Hell for the Republicans.
As long as Trump doesn't start a nuclear war this is going to turn out to be one hell of a hilarious chapter in future history texts.
Pelosi is also worried about going in to the midterms with an impeachment attempt in process and that it will just become a big rally-around-Trump circus and none of the issues/candidates where she thinks they can win will even get any attention.
The FBI loses lots and lost of cases. They just lost another one this week with Menendez. Years ago they lost even more, much more. Recently their numbers have been much better but only by becoming extremely conservative about the cases they bring. Mueller knows that the obstruction of justice thing is extremely shaky, especially since trumps notes surfaced showing/proving that they were talking about all sorts of other concerns about Comey. I am all in favor of seeing Mueller try to bring that case because he will lose and it will be big black mark on his record just like Comey's legacy now. Instead, Mueller will cycle around for months/years trying to accomplish wins through quantity of small fish, rather than quality.
Make no mistake about it though. Mueller and company went into this to get Trump on obstruction or to see him impeached. That is not going to happen. He will cause collateral damage on some of trumps taxes from ten years ago or get Don Jr. for failing to file some form but EVERYONE KNOWS THAT THAT IS JUST WHAT A PUSSY WHO CANNOT MAKE THE KILL DOES.
He may be the republican of the dreams of some of the current dems. but not so much for the ones that were tossed out of office or defeated in the last election. Of which there was a tsunami, at all levels of government and office in the country.
Also, if you are dem with daca family members for example, he is not the republican of your dreams as that is a very unsettled scenario that could get and will get worse as March approaches. But I take your point, it is all about politics for the dems and not about whether they are actually representing the people who they take down off the shelf at election time. It has ever been thus.
