killthesunshine, you say meat is bad, but it has all amino acids and some saturated fat that is needed. If you eat too large portions, or fry the meat, or add too much more fat to the meat, like cheese and mayonaise to the hamburger, and eat this like this all the time, then yes it might be too many calories to burn for some people. But that does not make meat bad, it make portions bad, and adding more fat food to meat bad.
But the thread is about LDL cholesterol and heart disease. And how new evidence is saying it is not linked, but inflammation could be of the problem. But the doctors keep prescribing dangerous statins that have not shown to help heart disease. Big money to pharmaceutical company so they choose which science report to use to keep the drug they make on the market. So people who have told to take away fat from the diet, not eat beef, because of the heart disease risk could be wrong information. But I agree with you to eat vegetable and fruit, and not to eat processed food too much. Like potato chip. Is potato bad, no. It is the process that makes more calories.
