Quote from karol88:
Never eat carbohydrates alone.
Insulin is released by the pancreas in response to glucose or blood sugar. When you eat carbs, blood sugar rises, followed by the release of insulin.
Carbs are responsible for raising blood sugar levels so that the release of insulin is triggered.
always eat carbs with fat or/and protein.
eat carbs with low GI index.
don't skip meals
this way there is no need for your body to release too much insulin
This is poor advice.
Beef and fat also raise insulin. Often more than some carbs. Futhermore, "GI" index is based on effect of SINGLE foods eaten alone, mixed meals have a very different affect on insulin and blood sugar. The "GI" index is flawed for this reason., and not a good way to eat.
Besides, who eats a SINGLE food as a meal? Our meals are mixed meals made up of a variety of foods.
Some high GI foods raise insulin LESS than some low GI food further confounding the "GI index" issue.
Always eat carbs with fat and protein? The FAT with the protein in animal source is a big problem for the arteries not a carrot or that leaf of lettuce.
Eating excess fat with carbs to blunt some flawed "GI index/ insulin theory" based on bad science is not sound advice.
"Dont skip meals" why not?? A skipped meal is just one more meal you're not eating fat and results in LESS overall fat consumption for the day, week, month and lifetime. Also the 'skipped meal" is a lot less calories

How is that bad?
Insulin secretion is a natural consequence of eating. Eat 'right", high fiber nutrient-dense plants in their natural 'package', little or no animal protein, no refined carbs, don't have to worry about insulin (unless you are diabetic)
