Every cent you save is more learning money - imagine all the $$ one would save if you bypassed the likes of solicitors for simple things like sorting out a will when someone dies!

Information (correct) is worth money in your pocket - but don't expect anyone to hand it to you on a plate, as you have to get off your big fat lazy arse and do a bit of hard work - well, with the internet it is now "easy work"

My advice is forget it, if you are serious about daytrading. Laptops are not designed for lots of graphics, and you will have big problems with overheating, which will shorten the lifespan of your laptop dramatically.

You can put together a nice small mini atx full PC for very small money - get an eyefinity capable motherboard - I have 4 monitors running with just one dual output graphics card and can add another 2 if I like.

240GB SSD running Windows 10 64 bit with 8 GB ram is the basic requirements - 16GB would be better, but not required.

Win 10 can be setup for free.

Off top of my head, full setup should cost roughly $350 - $400 - half that if you buy seconhand.

Make sure you get the right motherboard, as it is the most important when it comes to multi monitor - let me know if you want some make / model no's and I can get same for you to build your system for peanuts compared to what you will pay in shops.

This is what is in it - total of 5 graphics outputs. Motherboard details already posted previously. Power supply is 500W (overkill for this graphics card setup - cheaper one would suffice) - make sure you buy high quality power supply like this one, as cheap ones can/will damage your hardware!

All this stuff is dirt cheap now - really no need for the more expensive stuff for trading graphics, as you know

I have just got rid of my 4 monitor setup today, as I want to try out something I have wanted to do for some time now.

2 screens only - 1 x 50" Philips 21.9 cinema wide led tv - awesome picture but limited to full HD graphics size of 1920 x 1080. Bought this a few years ago for half price at a local shop sale, but it was being used by someone till recently - just got it back yesterday.

Want to get ONE BIG CHART, and this 50" cinema wide tv is doing the job just fine.

Second monitor is for order entry using booktrader - dell ultrasharp 20.1 widescreen sideways - one of the best monitors I ever bought, although the clarity/brightness on the philips 50" is much much better.

Will post screenshot of 50" when setup - but you will really need to see a photo of it, as the screenshot will just take the normal full HD size.

Btw, I am no hardware GURU, but I do know a bargain when I see one

Monitors 1,2,3 on Radeon HD 7700

Monitor 4 on motherboard (Intel(R) HD Graphics) via HDMI with one additional output available on DVI.

Motherboard will only output 2 graphics, but has 3 slots - HDMI, DVI and Display Port.

If I want, I can use the Display Port out to a Dell MMH11 DVI adapter - one display port to 3 x DVI monitors, to get a total of 7 monitors - OR - change my graphics card - put in 2 x dual display port output cards (which I have but I have to get the model numbers as they are in another PC I have) to 4 x Dell MMH11 DVI adapters, to get a total of 14 monitors if I like - BUT - I find that 4 is plenty for the way I trade!

I have 2 x Dell MMH11's, and just bought another on ebay for 20 Euro - they are hard to get secondhand, so whenever I come across one at the right price I buy it.

I also bought 3 x dual display port output graphics cards on ebay for small money - have 2 in another PC and have one as a spare.

Have bout 18 monitors in total

ALSO - my previous statement about eyefinity was incorrect - I meant to say make sure your graphics card has eyefinity capability if you want to use the 3 outputs on it - nothing to do with the motherboard

But sometimes you have to spend money to make money.
What if you depend on a cheap laptop but you have to go back and forth to open and close several windows and miss opportunities?

Or your computer is working overtime and it takes a week to refresh a page?

I guess it depends on your starting point, but it's not unusual to spend 20,30 percent more on your IT equipment and get 50,100 percent more performance.

That's not unreasonable if it's going to last you 3,4 years.

BTW, what kind of connection do you have ....... every one talks about computers but I wonder what kind of download speed everyone has...15 Mbps here..... $40 month.
