I was looking at this monitor online. Do you like it? And what's good and bad about it? Looks like it's in the $1000-1200 range. Thanks.

I broke down and bought a 32 inch, thats max size i would ever consider for a backup monitor. Bought a SONY 32 XBR9, a network Blue Ray player to stream in porn movies, (JOKE) from NETFLIX etc, kicked in a kickass audio system to clear out any cobwebs. :)

Fired all that up and hit the screen for a chart of the ES on a 5 minute chart and BINGO. The picture was just fine as stated from the salesman. I will fully admit that the size is a bit much for a chart ............

PS: Not sure what he said about the lines being better with 1080 vertical but i did understand.............you get a BETTER picture with TWICE as many LINES. Thats all i needed to hear........."LETS DEAL"

DOUBLE PS: When you buy a HDTV, make sure you get one with a clear QAM digital tuner in it............ it costs a few bucks more but it is better. For living room, (not a small room) i have eye on LED backlight. OLED is super good but screen sizes are still SMALL. Electronics these days are like owning a car and being married............gotta keep pouring money into them to keep em happy. HA

That sounds right. I was looking at a this 25.5" Samsung which seemed okay. TVs will generally do a better job than monitors when it comes to video, for reasons that will take far too long to explain. Converse is true for "computery" things where the image is generally stable.

If you mostly need a monitor, get a monitor; if you mostly need a video display, get a TV. Or throw in another video card and get both, there is no technical roadblock to running 3 or even more displays.
