OK, but I'd rather cut to the chase and just ban mass murders to begin with.Quote from Hoofhearted:
Letting stupid people have guns, is comparable to letting drunks drive a car.
What we need is more regulations, banning dumbasses from being allowed to handle firearms!
How's that for a workable compromise?
I think we need to ban public schools , if they were not there none of the children would be dead.Quote from Hoofhearted:

But even if we did attempt such a ban, what makes you think criminals would comply? Or that unconstitutional restrictions on law abiding citizens would stop gun crime which by definition is committed by criminals? Or that revolvers and speed loaders couldn't be used instead? No, the problem is people not inanimate objects. Guns in the United States are overwhelmingly used for hunting, recreation and DEFENSIVE purposes. The fact that the biggest killer of U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan is IEDs proves that improvised explosive devices can be a lot more effective for OFFENSIVE purposes than small arms. Which means, dumbass, that someone hell bent on mass killings can do arbitrarily more of it with a little creativity than with an AR-15 that you foam at the mouth about. Furthermore, they don't even need to be there as they would with a rifle because they could use cell phones to detonate from anywhere in the world with a signal. Screw C4, plenty of improvised explosive devices that are easier to detonate can be cooked up by almost anyone and the fact that you know less about it than children with sparklers do, doesn't negate that. But forget about explosives. Look at what a little creativity and box cutters accomplished. Or have your mommy explain what a little imagination and gasoline and matches could do. The possibilities are endless. The point is, the common denominator of people killing is PEOPLE. And because there's no limit on ways to kill, unconstitutional fairy tale notions about banning only one avenue won't even stop killings with that avenue (guns) let alone others. The first step in solving any problem is correctly identifying it. And that problem is people. More specifically, mental illness and our rotting culture. Targeting the wrong people and objects not only won't solve the problem, it will make it easier for the predators to prey on their victims. Maybe your mommy can explain the stats on Australia that were posted and which simply bounced off your thick skull. If that doesn't work, then seek professional help for chronic reality deficit disorder.

The point is very easy to understand for everyone but you. If federal/state/local governments had a commitment to keep semi automatic weapons from people in the same way they have a commitment to keep C4 from people our gun crime would collapse.

I've never understood the excitement they get out of guns, looking at gun magazines, talking about guns. Seems like an expensive hobby to me. And I know a lot of guys who just buy guns, don't go to the shooting range, don't go hunting, just buy guns for the fun of it. My Armageddon plan for when the zombies attack, I'll just go borrow a gun from a buddy to help kill the zombies. I've got a gun, but not the serious fire power it'll take to fight zombies.
