I disagree in respect to this issue. While there are many law abiding people who like to be controlled, there are many who don't. The problem is, there will always be many who wish to control the lives of others. Fear itself could be one of those driving factors. Agree with what you said. That's why i am strong supporter of 2nd amendment. But certain weapons probably should be banned.

Also, I strongly believe in background checks before firearm is sold. Mentally ill or felons should not have any legal ways to obtain guns.

Phoenix, for example, stated earlier that cops are criminals, I guess he fears cops.

While carrying a gun during wild west time made perfect sense, we live in a different world now.

If you're not wary of cops you'd have to be an idiot (or wield well known power in the law enforcement/political community) in this day and age.


cops may not be the worst gang in America ( about cutting you up with a chainsaw) but they are the most prevalent and highly funded gang you will encounter and the one most likely to take your life and your freedom without just cause.

We virtually live in a police state , I can see 3 police cars while driving withing 1 mile of from my home.

While I consider it an infringement of the 2nd amendment. I MIGHT not be opposed IF they actually made a significant difference. But they don't, never have and never will.

I absolutely agree with the background checks, especially regarding mental illness.

Regarding certain weapons: I recall a Korean shop owner in the LA riots who sat on his roof with an AK47. I don't believe he sustained the damage neighboring stores did. A good example of why I disagree with folks against rifles with high cap mags. They just can't possibly know what the self defense needs are of an individual.

LE will not always be there when needed, especially in the rural areas, and the individual needs for self-defense should not be determined by the emotions, knee jerks, and especially the "know better for us than we do" attitudes of the elite politicians. It is for that reason I don't buy the majority of the arguments presented by the grab crowd. This is why I am opposed to registration.

Regarding NY registration: How do your local authorities know if you registered a gun you purchased in a private sale out of state? Just curious.
