Has anyone noticed...

Quote from Gabfly1:

1) Yes, people make decisions based on what will likely improve their lives. That is what most of them did. That Obama is black was obviously a bonus for the black community. And while some blacks might have understandably voted for Obama even if Obama's platform was identical to that of McCain, the fact is that the platforms were different and one was better. I doubt blacks would have voted for Obama if his platform have been worse than McCain's.

2) No, but there are murmurs calling for armed rebellion. When was the last time that happened during your lifetime? Curious, isn't it?

3) Really? Were people flagrantly exercising their "open carry" rights in such numbers and in the most inopportune of places? Not that I recall. It has gotten a lot more in-your-face since Obama took office. Suddenly, "real" Americans feel a lot more free to tweak the current administration for no reason other than because. As I noted in the first post, these self-described "real" Americans are like unruly children testing boundaries, rather than acting as responsible citizens.

4) Whatever.

1) I also don't vote with the idea that govt is my personal pinata.

2) Really you canadians are murmuring about armed rebellion?

3) Poor wittle obama we still have rights, that must really suck that we flagrantly exercise those rights?

Except for the fact that YOU did it FIRST.

Look, there are many good and decent Americans. Many. And I'm sure they represent the majority. This thread is not about them. It is about the others, a microcosm of which thrives largely unabated right here at ET.

I think you are referring to the silent majority...

The silent majority isn't going to vote on ideological programming alone.

They look at the economy primarily, and then decide.

The miscreant ET noisy right wingers represent about 10% of the population in general, and also belong to the same 25% of the set of Americans that continue to think Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11, think Bush was a good president, and other lies of the right wing propaganda machine, etc.

Anyone who believes the powers behind the current president didn't have it in their game plan to play the race card at the first sign of disagreement with his ideology is an idiot.

Anyone who now joins that play is a useful idiot.

Racism does exist, and it exists in all political parties. It is obvious that one particular party and its useful idiots in the media, forums, and elsewhere revel in accusing those who disagree with them of racism in a feeble attempt to marginalize them.

Keep it up. You will see the tea party grow exponentially because among other things, good, honest Americans are sick and fucking tired of you liberals accusing them of racism. They are not fond of big government either. Does that also make them racist? It does in the progressive playbook.

Oh, goody goody...

The tea party will grow, they will put up a third party candidate, and Obama will be president through 2016...

Actually, they are supporting conservative GOP candidates over moderates. Not a bad strategy, since if moderate republicans continue to get elected, there will be a third party candidate which will assure the left has a permanent grip on power. Perhaps they aren't as stupid as the left believes.

Yes, they are as stupid as the left believes.

Look, the main stream republicans, you know the ones who put up Reagan, Bush I, Bush II, Dole, and McCain will put up a traditional republican that the teabuggers can't stand, they will put up a third party candidate, and hand the election to Obama...

Couple that with the changing demographics, and the republicans look fucked for a long time...
