Gun control is about Urban vs Rural areas

Quote from wjk:

Perhaps he would enjoy China. They have strict gun control.

They also still have mass murders. Go figure.

Doesn't matter. It's the guns he fears except in the hands of government employees. That makes China the perfect place for him. I'm being serious. I think he would be content in a police state.

Quote from IShopAtPublix:

The US Constitution is showing its age. The fiscal cliff nonsense is a vivid illustration of why the presidential system is defective.

I personally prefer the Westminster System of Government. The majority party writes the budget and the idiocy we have now would never happen. If you cant get anything done the government collapses and you call for elections. You either do the job you were elected to do or GTFO.

The only thing wrong with the U. S. Constitution is liberal judges stopped applying it and replaced it with the exact sort of craziness you advocate.

This gun control debate is a perfect example of the Founders' wisdom. Guns should be regulated locally. Does the mere fact that an item moves in interstate commerce give the federal government the right to regulate every aspect of its possession and use? I say no, otherwise why have states. I say a federal law banning possession or purchase of certain firearms should be clearly unconstitutional. They can bar you from carrying those weapons across state lines, but that's it.
