Sounds good in theory but not in practice. Rich girls are spoiled and extremely demanding. The only way you'll survive being with one is if you're spineless and have no qualms being her servant.
 
I have found that anything Toyota or Honda *that is 4 cylinder* requires very little maintenance and will last at least 300,000 miles. I have seen many Toyotas and Hondas in NYC with 200+K mileage, over 10 years old and still driving well. The owners always have the same story that all they have done is oil changes and nothing ever went wrong.

The best thing about a Toyota/Honda 4 cylinder car is in the event something does go wrong service on these cars is always fairly inexpensive. Lots of used and aftermarket parts available.

$1200 is way too much for his income level. Even when I was making more than double his salary, I never paid more than $450 for auto insurance (high liability but no collision) and I always drove old-but-reliable cars. There's no reason he can't do the same if he's truly interested in making his income go farther.

I mean, I guess the dude could put away like a Benjamin a month in a Christmas club account and treat himself to one of those "high quality snatcheroos" under a mistletoe 'round that time of year. At least to say he had THAT.

No, it is not. Making an empty statement does not make it true. That is also reason I have ditched American cars.

Every one I owned, by 110,000 miles, either engine, tranny or both were shot.

I rebuilt a couple, and then they went again.

And the theory that Hondas/Toyotas are no cost is bunk - it depends. My sister just put $6,000 into a replacement engine for a Toyota Sienna with 60,000 miles.
