Kowboy, that same thing happened to me the first time I tried to buy using coupons on dell. I ended up buying 2 of them 1 at a time using different email addresses for a sign in account.

Farside, what monitor did you try? I just tried to apply coupons to a 2005fp and it accepted them: $426.85 with free shipping.

I have my eye on the Planars also, and I'm willing to pay more for their superb warranty, as soon as the price comes down!

Illiquid - I was thinking of getting the PX191 also, but I didn't because of the price, but also because Planar just upgraded that monitor to a 16 ms panel, but all the online retailers are still selling their 25 ms inventory. So for almost $200 less, I went with the 1905. I've got two; I've never seen the Planar, so I don't know how they compare, but for under $300, I think these are a good deal.
