It's my understanding that the bipartisan House bill that passed Friday provides paid sick for 2 weeks for anyone that works at a company of less than 500 people. You would have to think that large corporations will provide paid sick leave for their employees that test positive for the virus as well, because they would be crucified in the media if they didn't. I doubt this will end up being a problem.
A few blue states have paid sick time. Employers have to foot the bill. There is only a verbal statement from trump, that the government will backstop employers.
It can ruin companies as many companies (like restaurants) will be completely shut down but still be paying wages if there isn’t a clear way for them to get reimbursed.
