As outlined by the left-leaning Slate website - another story about an obscure Republican candidate, Susanne Atanus, that no-one outside of 9th District in Illinois ever heard of until this news story came out. Perfectly aligned to the sad reality outlined in the Slate article - As the national electoral plight of Democrats increases, so does the incidence of stories about obscure state Republican lawmakers.
Stories like this are a sign of desperation from the liberal left.
The story came out when she became the Republican candidate for national office. Stories like this are an accurate description of the cesspool of idiocy and bigotry that the GOP has become - trying to blame it on the liberal left is a sign of deflection and idiocy on the conservative right.

Oh, by all means then let's use the Illinois 9th Congressional District as an example - a district comprising of "all or parts of Chicago and its suburbs". This is a district which has sent a Democrat to Congress every year since 1949 - and the national Republicans consider to be a "throw-away district" that they are not even funding anyone to run in.
