Did those of you with wood-burning stoves know that you'll have to remove it if you sell your home??
Rilly? Please point that out to me. Don't see that in the story.
For the record, I have one, it has a catalytic converter, which probably means it meets this new standard. House had it when I bought it. It was made in 1986, according to the date carved into it. That would be, oh, 28 years ago. Not exactly new technology.
Things change and progress over time, you know. I think three decades is long enough to wait to update the standard on the pollution wood burning stoves produce.
As a side effect, it of course puts out way more heat than a regular stove, meaning once I get the fire going I can keep my whole house warm on a small log sitting on a bed of hot coals. That log can last an hour. Very convenient, means I don't have to be tending it all the time.
