Quote from CaptainObvious:
The word racist is being thrown around too much
What is a racist? A racist is someone who hates a group of people just because they are another race. That means he hates that entire group.
I know i'm not a racist, because I don't just hate any group just because they look a certain way.
However, I do have prejudices, and so does everyone else.
For example, I may hate certain general qualities about a certain group, but I only hate those qualities about them, not the entire race just because of the way they look.
So, yes, I do hate certain things about blacks in general. But I also hate certain things about whites in general.
That doesn't make me a racist. It just makes me a person with certain prejudices.
But every person on earth has prejudices. Some more so than others, but still, every human being forms an opinion about another person or other groups based on what he/she observes. that's normal.
Let's be honest with one another.
Let's admit that we all have prejudices, but I don't think most people are racist.
IMO racism is simply the belief that someone's "race" is an important factor in their personality, that certain races are inferior to others, and by extension that individuals of that race must also be inferior, simply because of their race.
Hatred is not necessary for racism, it is only a more extreme version of it. Several non-white women I've fucked would not contemplate certain things because of my race (e.g. introducing me to their parents, contemplating marriage or kids etc. Lucky for me since I hate all those things). Yet they didn't hate me, otherwise they wouldn't have dated me, let alone jumped up and down on my john thomas. So you can be racist and not hate other races, all it needs is for you at some point to not view them as true equals as human beings, purely because of the colour of their skin. To think that they are "not one of us". "Just don't marry one". "But what will people say about the kids?". That kind of crap is the real racism in today's world, not the absurd KKK stuff. You don't have to spit at people on the street or make gorilla sounds when they walk past to be a racist (although that still happens).
Obviously it is not racist to think there are racial differences, since different "races" look different, have different average heights, hair and skin colour, and so on. The racism comes in when someone from a certain race is prejudged, simply because of their racial background, rather than who they are as a person. Like Martin Luther King pointed out, people can only be reliably judged on the content of their character (and their actions), not by their skin colour.
So, if you get mad at them, and you aren't racist, you'd generally call them an asshole, motherfucker etc. If you are racist, you'd start ranting about Zionist conspiracies, call them a nigger or a wop or whatever. You'd focus on their race and insult them based on that, rather than focusing on their actions and swearing at them for what they *did*, rather than who they are.
I think most people are racist in the mild sense i.e. they don't intrinsically hate other races, but they do view other races as different beyond the actual physical differences, and in most cases view them as inferior and somehow not "one of us". Most people of all races would not be happy if their son or daughter brought home someone of another race, and announced they were getting married and having a kid in 5 months time. That goes for white, black, brown, yellow, everyone. The number of genuinely tolerant people in any society in the world, is IMO maybe 1 or 2%.
