GOLF

Doc believes that I'll be able to swing up on the ball quite a bit more once I get back to driver. --and I agree-- I can see where I will be able to squat more on the attack and get under the back of the ball on the tee.

You might actually get better because you won't be trying to kill the ball all the time for fear of injury.
You'll see.

I noticed today that with the irons, I was able to hit the ball just as far or farther simply by using very little wrist hinge. I think this is because I make better contact.

You would think ... but I assure, on occasion, is it still possible lol ... but your advice is exactly what I've been taught, and it is 99% infallible. The other 1% ... it is what it is. Watched one of the best kids in the country on the college championship this week blade a chip across the green and into a hazard. It happens to the best of us, so its certainly going to happen to the rest of us.

Blading is almost always caused by one of two things. Either flipping at it with your wrists. ie yipping, or standing up. Try this for chips and pitch shots. Preset your impact position, ie weight forward, front wrist bowed. Then take the club back by turning your upper body, no arm movement at all. Let your wrists cock slightly and set and hold them (ie the Mickelson technique). Return to the ball using body turn only. It will seem stiff and awkward at first but this technique has been foolproof for me. On longer pitches, make sure to turn your chest to the target through impact.

Blading becomes a problem for most low Hdcp players on the latter part of the back 9 when the alcohol and vape pen starts really taking its full effect. The arms, legs and melon are in full Gumby mode.

You clearly are not golfer. Most rec golfers are way too tense. A few cocktails loosen them up.

Most rec golfers do not possess the muscle memory or hand eye coordination to benefit from "loosening up".
Bingo.
If you don't start young... you're doomed to suck.
That's why B1 should focus on 150 yards out period.
You can practice and perfect that as you advance in age.
His obsession with his driver.... #1 sign of a forever chop.

When you can shoot your age B1.. you're an accomplished golfer.
If you love the game, that should be your goal.
150 yards out bud. Thats key. ;)
