Going to NY in 2.5 weeks

Have you been to BareBurger? I've been there once and had the wild boar burger which was good but haven't tried their beef burger. A couple friends of mine go there all the time.

Quote from CT10Gov:

Yeah... that's really strange to me too. I didn't like the 5 Napkin burger I got... soggy... and tasteless. And I can't stand shake shack... totally overrated.

I maintain the breslin has the best burger in the city, but I'm open to challenges since the result is finding an even tastier burger.

Quote from CT10Gov:

How did that happen?? It's usually around $40... $65 is enough to get home from JFK.

I wasn't happy to say the least. But we got stuck in traffic for awhile and the meter just kept on ticking every 30 seconds of course. We were in the car about 45 minutes or so I think. The cabby stayed on the phone with his Arabic friend the whole time and he didn't speak a word of English. I tried asking him a question and he had no clue. He just understood the address. The ride back to the airport was much better though.

It's in brooklyn now right? It's a little out of my way, but one of these days I'll get to it. Although, I'm not impressed by their 'gimmick'; Alton Brown and the guys over at seriouseats demonstrated pretty conclusively that 'sealing in the juice' isn't valid.

try Smashburger

I'll give it a shot; I've walked by it many times without going in.

Incidentally, Kein's tonight; I'm going to get my mutton chop.

... hang on there buddy... better than Butcher & Singer? Better than B' Prime? I personally don't like Barclay Prime as much as most people, but I actually like Butcher & Singer a lot... and both, I think, serve a better steak than the Palm.

But I should get something non-steak at the Palm... I think those dishes look better.

Yeah, try the italian dishes at the Palm and the lobster, boiled then broiled---
Butcher& Singer-- sounds like a penny stock firm from the early 1990's. surf

Quote from R. Raskolnikov:

My steak at the Palm was soggy....where is that nice deep seared outer layer?
The Palm is overated IMO, I guess just surviving on tradition or something.

What's the burger bar? i can't seem to find it in NYC--- what's the word?

I misspoke (mistyped I mean). Was referring to the burger joint which you said was just ok. Haven't been myself but was hoping to at some point just to see what all the fuss is about.

NYC’s 12 Best Burgers:

Not enough can be said about perhaps the most underrated, high-profile burger in town. There’s an excellent combination of crunchy char and rich flavor with a marvelous “close-to-the-bone” note. The atmosphere at Wollensky’s Grill is raucous, filled with the after-work business crowd, and the hospitality of the hosts there, who make an effort to get to know you and treat you well, is also part of the experience.

only 1 problem, charbroiled meat are carcinogens
