The counter argument to Shilling is the Fact that he is only looking at one country to compare to China, which has very different dynamics as them. If one were to look at all EM or all countries I'm sure there would be plenty of hiking cycles that didnt end in recession
 
This week could end up being one of the strongest European rallies in history (other than those coming off of major panic bottoms). US not bad either.

Looking back to Friday or even Monday (when there was still plenty of time to get in at the bottom), it seems silly. Did anybody really believe another €100B was not coming Greece's way?
 
I thought DSK was guilty but found it unfair that he would be in jail without bail(and evidence) because women can lie pretty often(And of course, they will lie about that they lie). Turns out the latter was correct and the maid looks like an opportunist or perhaps a puppet
 
Congrats to a couple on this thread who at least thought DSK should be given some sort of presumption of innocence instead of being slammed in Rikers for several days based on some lowlife's story.

This may have been the only place on the internet (other than a great essay by Bernard Henri-Levy) where DSK was given any sort of a fair shake.

Curious that the whole result of this was him being forced to resign and the case falls apart the day after Lagarde (other than Geithner, the biggest defender of bank bailouts on the planet) is confirmed as next IMF chief.
 
Its an amazing loophole in the system. Essentially any women can walk in a police department and have any man arrested plus have all kinds of legal fees/lose reputation without significant evidence
