I would think that being a Supreme Court justice qualifies as being a bit more than a "silly assed" job. The law is, and always has been, her life. I imagine it is an inextricable part of her identity. And when you love what you're doing, it isn't work.

All professions are silly assed jobs at the end. In a thousand years, a mere blip on the universal time line, isn't anyone going to give a shit about anything being done today. She's damn near 90, damn near dead, and long past her prime as Supreme Court Justice. If this is all she has left to live for, that is just sad. Like McCain, these people are so full of self importance, so narcissistic, they actually think the world cannot go on without them, and lets be honest, the only reason you or anyone else wants her to stay is because you're afraid of losing another seat. We need new and younger blood on the court, and I am already on record saying if she went now the position should remain unfilled until after the election.
