I guess it depends where you move. I wouldn't live in Atlanta either. I am moving to Charleston, SC. Golf courses and 2 miles from the Ocean beaches.

I grew up in the south. I hate hot weather and didn't realize how much I did until I moved back in August 06 to Atlanta and experienced it again.

I moved back here iin August 07.

Good luck in Charleston. I just hate hot weather and few places get hotter and more miserable then Charleston, not to mention bugs, skeeters, hurricanes, and horrible demographics.

Does anybody else suffer from this know and how do you overcome this?Yes i already take sleeping pills and they do not help in preventing my premature wake up!

Pacific time is very tough, and I have the same problem of early waking about 4:30 AM when Arizona is on Pacific Time.

But nobody I know ever said that you must get all your sleep at one time, and in fact research has shown that an afternoon nap can be very benefitial to overall health.

So I've found that the solution for me is to say the hell with it, get up when I wake up, then crash for 60 mins in the afternoon with a nice nap.

I've now gotten used to the schedule, I don't worry any longer about getting up too early, and I've stopped fighting it.

Try it out, and it may help you.

has anybody tried valerian, chamomile or other herbs?

Herbs don't work reliably.

Ambien is the ticket. Habit forming but not addictive. Non narcotic, non hypnotic.

Cheap due to generic status.

i am not addicted to them...nor do i have any withdrawal symptoms when i stop taking them....FRom 2002-2006 i never took them...I only started up again when i started daytrading 8 months ago and couldnt fall asllep til 3 am and then have to wake up at 6 30...When i leave town for vacation i sleep like a baby without them...however when i go camping or backpacking i take them because i get anxious about being woken up by bears and other animals and the moonlight so i have to take pill to ensure a smooth deep sleep.

The tv advice is good.Yes i have 1 in my bedroom as well as my computer....I am addicted to watching cnbc after the market(not cramer tho). And i know i have to stop and have tried....

Earplugs is very good advice also.I recently started using them as i live about 300 ft from one of the busiest freeways in the world!I had recently started focusing on the freeway noise and i think they cut down some trees near the freeway that previously did a great job at reducing the noise.
Also i have the bedroom windows covered with a plastic/rubber type of window covering.I now sleep on the bed with my feet at the window not my head.

I am a lite sleeper too. If you can justify the expense consider get some soundproofing, unless the ear plugs work for you, they bother my ears. Below are a couple of links on soundproofing. Also consider get a sound soother from Sharper Image, they have 20 different backgrounds noises, some real nice ones, to drift away to sleep on.

If you plan on staying in this place you can even have your drywall pulled out and get spray foam insulation, works well for insulation as well as sound deadening. For some reason, sound seems to travel farther and faster at high altitude, I don't know why?

I am not affiliated with any of these companies. Just things I have looked into. :)

If you have decent insurance they will pay for you to get a sleep study. I haven't done it yet because I am able to sleep without the pills. You don't know how happy I am about that.

You sound like you have an overactive mind, like me. You need to relax it. The exercise and meditation or hypnosis will help.
