Quote from Ghost of Cutten:

But a respectful and caring relationship with no passion is doomed. One or both will cheat, or at the least feel very unfulfilled and trapped. That is why there are so many sexless marriages that end in divorce. You are ignoring the sexual component.

I thought it was implied but yes, you need to have regular sexy time. Also, trying new things (not necessarily sexual!) together is a great bonding tactic.

Quote from nooby_mcnoob:

Great scene. "How can you do that? What? Look at me like you haven't seen me every day for the last 13 years." That, my friends, is how a marriage can work.

Learn to be happy with what you have and you will be happy with whatever you have.

Love, I will say again, is transient. Attitudes are what can make it work in the long run.
I agree, but I wish you had gotten something far deeper. That she has the sensitivity to be genuinely impressed and touched by the man in front of her saying these things to her, and that she is bold and vulnerable and rewards him for it. She is fearless in the face of a man clearly in love with her in showing her love back with such tenderness, no mind games. That is the killer.

She is a poet in the everyday little things that makes her husband happy, and brings out the best in him. This man would work in the mines for this woman.

"The more I give to thee, the more I have, for both are infinite" - Juliet Capulet

In the movie, he only comes to this conclusion after years of living a completely empty life.

That is the meaning of life, in fact. You learn all the shit you should have done differently and then see other people make the same mistakes!

Quote from Ghost of Cutten:

My problem is the opposite - I don't want to get attached, but they do.

Also Nitro, have you thought that maybe love relationships are not fully explicable by reason and logic? There is a reason that Casanova was not an engineer.
Of course there is little reason and logic, although restraint even in passionate love is warranted. Perhaps this is one of the messages in Romeo and Juliet, slow down, relax, take a deep breath...

I find it interesting that in the greatest love story ever told, Juliet is an extraordinarily reasonable person, astonishing for such a young age. I wonder why Shakespeare characterized her this way? This is no ordinary man mind you...

The most perfect Juliet ever:

I am not attracted to women over 35 years old. When they talk to me, I feel as if I am speaking with a corpse...

As a trader, I do not have time for all the bullsh**. I'll take a girl with absolutely no intellect and no drive, a mental vacation. Oh, and no kids.

Big mistake. Let it go. Don't ruin your life.

Get a dog. Much more loyal.

Exactly. Dogs are much more loyal than men. I see many men in their late 40's and 50's or even 60's ditch their wives of decades for a young thing, and then feel insecure about her looking at young men.
