I just don't see a "second" lockdown coming. The smart strategy would be to isolate and quarantine the elderly and those with compromised immune systems in lieu of locking down an entire population and crippling an economy.

The death rate for people testing positive for COVID without serious underlying health conditions is something like three tenths of one percent as I recall.

CDC saying below 0.3% from your link that's everyone, 90% of those will be aged 70+, looking more like 0.1% although NYC closer to 0.2%.

As said in above, it's most killing people that are already dying soon.

Logic didn't stop them locking down the first time, the Public's fear trumps all sadly and that's all they should of done the first time around ( lockdown for Ill health only )

Yes, I don´t think mainstream medias and governments are keen on discussing the deaths caused by the lockdown. Spain had the strictest and probably most harmful lockdown in Europe, and now it appears there have been aroung 48000 excess deaths during the covid crisis but only around 28000 coronavirus deaths registered. Suspicions so far are thrown at the government that they have been under reporting Covid related while the gov states anyone dying while testing positive to covid or not testing negative and having similar symptoms have been registered as covid deaths. i read only main covid articles on mainstream news but didn´t see any mention excess deaths could be lockdown collateral damage. Yet by mid May already 550 000 surgeries had been cancelled in Spain because of covid policies, a country of 48million people. Many were scared shitless of going to hospitals and the emergency rooms had a fraction of the visits they had before Covid hysteria flared up. Even Madrid, the heart of this allegedly biblical disaster, had pictures of empty emergency rooms coming out by mid April
On the other hand, I think the central government announced 0 covid death in the whole country for last monday and tuesday while only the community of Madrid announced 11 and 12 deaths for those days, so the counting is unclear

UK reporting 2000 extra deaths per week since the lockdown, the count will increase for surgeries not done and cancers not diagnosed early enough, we've had a longer lock down than you, but weak 1, not hard enough to do much and they've admitted numbers where dropping in all areas before the lockdown.

Only just put masks in hospitals and on public transport into law, which is about 4months too late as would make sense in those places. And stopping flights into country without quarantine today I think, also about 4months to late.

Almost like there failing on purpose over here, they want Herd but public said NO, so they just failed simple.

Atleast 1 of those 4,000 bed hospitals near me has been dismantled with zero patients, current hospital level is 7% covid and at the high 25%.

London had Zero deaths for 4days this week, 10Mil population.

When did you lot start unlocking and how unlocked are you currently ??

Nothing on your chart indicating an increase at all, interestingly.

UK allowed people back to work and started unlocking 23days ago ( most of us starting ignoring as it's became silly, police stopped enforcing ), numbers still falling daily.

Lets see if we get any confirmed reinfections in the next month or 2, that'll be PANIC!!
