I don't mind his outspoken nature, and I prefer high levels of emotion in both victory and defeat to the robotic responses of some of these competitors. However, crying foul over aggressive driving in The Bud Pole Shootout only to practice the same behavior in the Daytona 500, placed Tony squarely on my 'crybaby' list. :D The attempted wrecking of Kenseth at 180 mph didn't sit well with me. Who's next? Mark Martin? Perhaps, karma jumped up and bit Tony squarely in the ass. However, I must admit, a smile did appear on my face when I noticed smoke blowing from underneath 'Smoke's' racecar.

yeah,,, I agree with all your points except the smoke under Smoke (dumb nick name).... Not to mention I wish he'd put those thousands of dollars of exercise equipment he purchased to use. He's been really reminding me way too much of Jimmy Spensor with additional scruff on his face.:D

Yes. I agree with your assessment of Greg Biffle. I certainly don't mind when he wins races, and when I met him at Bristol he seemed genuinely appreciative of the fans. A good guy in my book. I give significant credit to Robbie Gordon for facing the many challenges of team owner and driver. In today's day and age (of mega dollars and multi-car teams), you simply have to like the little guy. In addition, the switch to DEI power has given Robbie (at least for these first two races) reliable engines. Something he didn't have before.

I wonder how much more he has to spend on those DEI engines... I bet it's putting him back a bit, unless he continues to finish significantly better than he did last year. I'm pulling for him.

I can only imagine how great Bristol is. I can't wait to go there. The only race I've been at was the first one at Homestead (pit road box seats over the garages and catered. A real good time.)

One can tell that Biffle's the kind of guy you could hang with... Real down to earth .

Plan to really enjoy yourself. Nothing beats a short track race. Watching a Bristol Race on television doesn't come close to capturing the excitement of the live event. The parade of Car Carriers on Thursday Nights, the friendly campground atmosphere, both Busch Series and Cup series racing on the same weekend and driver accessibility all contribute to a fantastic weekend. I've attended World Series Games and The NCAA Final Four. Neither compare to The Bristol Night Race when it comes to the almost palpable 'electricity' you can feel in the air. I encourage you to attend as soon as humanly possible.

Where is the skill in that? Together with drinking Bud which tastes just like piss, what a fun time with the gals who marry their cousins.

Of course, I've heard of Formula One Racing. Michael Schumacher and Ferrari won so many races, everybody voted to change the rules. Now if only they can legislate a rule change so the 'racing' actually has passing for the lead involved more than once a year.

The more than occasional 'pass for the lead' occurs a bit more frequently on ovals. In addition, a breakdown in concentration by one or more drivers might result in a spectacular wreck. Combined, these two elements make for a fantastic show - especially at Bristol Motor Speedway. Also, NASCAR visits a road course twice a year - Sonoma and Watkins Glen.
