Even Bums like us can now time the Market, despite that old mistaken belief.

It's nice that I am included in a grouping of such well known names. Believe my results are better than O'Neill, Zweig and Soros for sure.

 
I have a funny Wiz story. Back in the day when big TV's were rare I always wanted a large Sony XBR.. if you don't know this used to be their " pro " model you could stick a bunch of tape players and video imputs into the back, stereo enhancers etc. The sound in particular was much better than a regular Sony TV.

Finally Wiz had a big enough sale I got one. It was huge. I think they brought it up the stairs I lived six flights up, maybe they left it downstairs I cannot remember- Yes it was downstairs and we lugged it upstairs unpacked it and.. Surprise there was huge scratch on the screen.

And back then returns were -- Sure bring it on down to Canal street.. this is before any UBEr xtra large obviously, so I would of had to rent a van...

I spent ten years staring at that scratch and cursing it.... Where did that TV go? I think I left it in the apt when I moved from 8th avenue... It was huge, especially in the back.

A Canadian tourist was visiting Oakland recently when he had to talk someone out of taking his Tesla from a hotel parking lot.
This was no thief. It was the Oakland Police Department. Turns out, the Tesla may have witnessed a homicide.

In Oakland and beyond, police called to crime scenes are increasingly looking for more than shell casings and fingerprints. They’re scanning for Teslas parked nearby, hoping their unique outward-facing cameras captured key evidence. And, the Chronicle has found, they’re even resorting to obtaining warrants to tow the cars to ensure they don’t lose evidence

The trend offers a window into how mass surveillance — the expansion of cameras as well as license-plate scanners, security doorbells and precise cellphone tracking — is changing crime-fighting. While few cars have camera systems similar to Teslas, that could change rapidly, especially as the technology in vehicles continues to improve.

“We have all these mobile video devices floating around,” said Sgt. Ben Therriault, president of the Richmond Police Officers Association.

  • The web sites of Live National Entertainment’s (NYSE:LYV) Ticketmaster and other ticket sellers crashed amid a surge in demand for the first concerts in more than a decade by rock back Oasis. Fans who couldn’t obtain tickets expressed their anger on social media.
  • Tickets for the 17-night tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland went on sale to general public on Saturday on Ticketmaster’s website and the GigsAndTours.com site run by U.K. promoter SJM Concerts.
  • Shares of Live Nation (LYV) fell in late 2022 after demand for pop star Taylor Swift's tour crashed Ticketmaster's site.
  • Oasis in 2009 broke up after years of quarrels between brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher.
