My mother gave me taste. She was an antique dealer and she taught me what to look for in style, build, texture etc. She then went on to Home Decorating and then just buying homes of which she had many. So I learned my house hunting abilities and how to create living environments from her, she an incredibly keen eye. Boy what a sample shopper! Mom loved a deal on high end clothes so she spent a good amount of time dragging me around Sample Sales in NYC..(it was a thing back then) and that's where I learned my clothing chops. Later i would open my own store with my wife.
Mom also got me the Andy Warhol job -- they worked together.
My dad died when I was 1.
