I was at a street taco food truck bonanza on Saturday. No English speakers(Thankfully I speak enough to make myself look stupid!). I asked what payment methods the vendor liked. A square device attached to their cellphone or Zelle.
Most little burger and burrito dives are Square or Toast apps for credit cards. What advantage does PayPal have? I use to use it and now there’s no need. Not a Ebay seller.
I use PYPL every day it seems but I use a laptop. You are describing a messy keypad at a food truck. these are serviced by outfits like TOAST and FOUR and I guess Square that seems old fashioned this point and Apple pay<-- these are all competition to a certain extent in market share for Paypal
But the lions share of internet $'s are spent from your cozy home or from your phone where I just find it much easier to hit Paypal and exit quickly without filling in all the crap and getting on some new mailing list.
Venmo for you business to business is still No 1. When you want to send money and be protected you use Venmo, when you want a burrito you may use square. The % on your $5 burrito> Not so much.
The % on my $400 wine order probably larger....
