STONEY!!!!!
Stoney, don't conflate a bigger picture call with a short term (very) low volume bounce.
The naz is going lower. Mark the post.
You're welcome.
What a drop huh?
Good thing I wrote that an hour before the bell so everyone could get in.
YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED WE ARE LOOKING AT SOME SPACS AGAIN... CAN'T SAY WE HAVE BOUGHT ONEBUT WE ARE CERTAINLY LOOKING AND THAT MUST MEAN SOMETHING.

Had you not been so nasty earlier, I would have told you this thing has been on a short squeeze since $8 They eventually top out. It was up almost 40% in a week or so.
Bad call on your part Stoney. The readers deserve better.
LAZR >>> -7%
Whatever.
BUT>>>! >>> In the "incredible call" department for today:

Weight Watchers... they are going into the prescription writing business for weight loss.
$4.60
So this thing hit my scanner early and I watched the volume on the news. It was a no brainer. Good move on their part actually. If Americans are anything... they're fat. And lazy. So now Oprah will be selling Rx fat pills like those Viagra commercials all day on TV. Like I said... a no brainer.
WW
$4.60 (vz 9AM shout out price) ---> $6.93
That would be about 50% in one day.
50% STONEY!!!!!
Stoney!!!
You should buy CASY for earnings.
$210.
CASY's didn't release their earnings until late... this is an old favorite. They always do well.
They beat handily on the bottom line, top line came in a bit light.
Same store sales forecast at 6%-7% growth, which is pretty good for this model.
Headline earnings were $2.67... but dig deeper and in reality that should be $2.36.
Regardless, the Street wanted $2.03. Nice beat.
In this particular case, considering inflation and the cost of goods sold... I actually like a top line miss and a bottom line beat... when you combine it with their forecast.
Growth is on track.
80 new stores in 2023.
Operating expenses/share came in at the low end and are forecast to get even better.
$400M repurchase plan untouched.
Good company.
We'll see how the Street reads it tomorrow.
But for now... $214 close in the ah's on low volume.
I think Stoney's BJ's might have a remarkably similar report. Not an apples to apples model by a long shot, but there are many similarities.

“Thanks to the hard work of our entire team, Casey's delivered another stellar quarter by driving inside gross profit while managing operating expenses efficiently,” said Darren Rebelez, President and CEO. “Inside same-store sales were spurred by grocery and general merchandise, notably non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, snacks, and candy. Prepared food and dispensed beverage performed well due to strong pizza slice and donut sales. The fuel team continues to strike the right balance between gallon volume and gross profit margin. Finally, I am very proud of the team's ability to continue to effectively manage operating expenses in a challenging inflationary period.”
___________
Pizza by the slice doughnut sales huh?
Go figure.
Where'd Weight Watchers and their fat pills close again?
