I do believe Apple i-phones are calling 911 centers non-stop so the phone-side of this tech still needs work-- but the concept- if your car goes over a cliff that your phone could call 911 from anywhere... that's a cool concept and Globalstar is in the middle of it.


Globalstar discloses $252M loan from Apple 15:07 GSAT, AAPL In an 8k filing, out earlier on Tuesday February 28, Globalstar (GSAT) said it and Apple (AAPL) , its partner in Emergency SOS via satellite services, agreed to amend its previously disclosed Partnership Agreements to provide for, among other things, the Partner's prepayment of $252M to the Company . The Company plans to use the proceeds of the Prepayment to pay amounts currently due and payable, and future amounts due, under its previously disclosed Satellite Procurement Agreement with Macdonald, Dettwiler and Associates Corporation, as well as launch, insurance and ancillary costs incurred in connection with the construction and launch of these satellites. The Prepayment replaces the Company's requirement to raise third-party financing for such costs as previously required under the Partnership Agreements and will be funded on a quarterly basis, subject to certain conditions in the agreement. The remaining amount of the satellite costs is expected to be funded from Globalstar's operating cash flows.

Early November last year, Apple said that a majority of funding for its $450M investment from Apple's Advanced Manufacturing Fund provides the critical infrastructure that supports Emergency SOS via satellite for iPhone 14 models goes to Globalstar, a global satellite service headquartered in Covington, Louisiana. "Apple's investment provides critical enhancements to Globalstar's satellite network and ground stations, ensuring iPhone 14 users are able to connect to emergency services when off the grid."

This is a crazy crazy week. Usually when you have this much news flow in a week the market will tread water. But it's a fearful tread that you could get pulled under at any time.

I'm inclined to sit back and watch...
 
janes I have a strawberry bush in Ct. The birds are such a problem. It's become a yearly battle.

No mater what I do in the garden area they get to it. But shhhhhhhhhhhh. Right next to my deck grows a completely wild Strawberry bush and the Birds seem to prefer the fancy French version.. So I pick from the wild.

The Ecovyst upgrade appears to be before a secondary.

The aTyr is more interesting.

This co pissed off shareholders when they got a $10 mil milestone payment on Feb 6

Only to drop a secondary on Feb 8<--- very bad form.

In the end they have $60mln in the bank from these transaction...
