WHO panel recommends against GSK, Regeneron COVID drugs, Bloomberg reports

The antibody drugs GSK (GSK) and Regeneron (REGN) developed against COVID do not appear to work against variants, a panel of experts advising the World Health Organization concluded, leading the panel to recommend against the use of the medicines, Marthe Fourcade of Bloomberg reports. The panel came to this conclusion as "evidence from laboratory studies that these drugs are not likely to work against currently circulating variants," the panel said in BMJ, a medical journal, according to Bloomberg. The new guideline is a blow to not only Regeneron and GSK, but also partner Vir Biotechnology (VIR), replacing a conditional endorsement of the treatment with a "strong recommendation" against its use. Bloomberg added the news is not entirely surprising, for GSK and Vir's sotrovimab lost its US authorization in April because it was unlikely to work against the dominant omicron variant

BUT.... as pointed out by a GBA board member, someone bought 40,000 of next weeks $32 Calls for $0.11 yesterday. A $440K bet.

Was it a hedge against a large short position that's betting that news drives the stock down further, or does someone know something? GSK is at an all-time low.

In general I am nervous about health stocks. But bullish on biotech. A few too many smarty pants have come on TV dissed the market, called for doom and then left saying buy healthcare and utilities.

Boy it sounds stupid to say in such a Bear market but Starbucks may regain it's 52 week high.

$90 is a very interesting point on the chart a break up and we are talking $97 in short order and then $106<--- I would be a seller at $106.

Although 52 week high is $117.
