If you closed another position after you called them, and it was a market order on AERC, and the position you closed had enough cash in it, then the order would fire.
The problem is, if the position you closed was also opened today, you're gonna get a margin call tomorrow for that amount. You can use unsettled funds to buy, but only if you hold overnight.
I got screwed bad on this once. I forget which stock, but it was an ipo and it was like $270 and I bought 1000 shares, and then sold right away. At the time the brokers software didn't have that restriction coded in lol.
I think it's called "a free ride" violation.

I moved $30k a intra-bank, checking to their trash broker to get some interests after getting $12. Cash account, cleared funds. Their system refused to recognize the shares I bought for twenty minutes. Broker was a moron on the phone, pulling shit out of his ass. Their system is trash, CEO admitted it.

Solar Tues open-

SEIA President and CEO Abigail Ross Hopper praised President Biden's decision to use emergency powers to boost U.S. solar production, saying it would "protect existing solar jobs, lead to increased employment in the solar industry and foster a robust solar manufacturing base here at home."

Most solar-related stocks rose in Tuesday's trading, including Shoals Technologies (SHLS) and Array Technologies (ARRY), which some analysts say will benefit most from Biden's move.
