Quote from cgroupman:
Per Fox news, paraphrase: Romney's latest polls show Trump cost him a few points. Pretty funny endorsement overall, considering their past. No debate, no photo op etc.

+1,And Obama, his billion dollar re election funds and Obamas media hasn't started attacking Romney 100 % yet
Romney embracing trumps endorsement is another thing Obama will attack Romney on.Very foolish of him to accept Trumps endorsement imo.At the most he should have released a statement saying I appreciate Mr Trumps endorsement

Quote from trefoil:
My point is that it looks really bad to be getting this endorsement smack in the middle of all the other stuff about him being "rich and out of touch". If you're running his campaign, the idea should be to lower the volume on this stuff. This just raises it even more.
A stupid mistake, and one easily avoided.
Yes, but I don't think it's a plus for Romney in the longer run if he hopes to court "disillusioned" Democrats and Independents. Also, I don't think it gives him any meaningful traction with so-called moderate Republicans, which I presume is his base. He might get some additional crazies, but at what cost?Quote from Epic:
First off, nobody is gonna turn down a billionaire donor. I don't care who it is. I would bet that it was Trumps decision to do it now, not the Romney staff.
Second, it turned out to be a five minute event with almost no speech or photo op. That is as down played and small as you can get with Trump.
Quote from tomdavis:
Obama is likely win re-election easily.
Incumbent presidents get re-elected 70% of the time overall, and virtually 100% of the time when the public's perception of the economy is good, or at least that it's improving.
If the economic numbers (particularly employment) continue to improve from now through the summer, no one can beat Obama.
