Roger Hairabedian Wins Event 5: €2,200 No Limit Hold’em (€148,820)
Winner, Roger Hairabedian He was just unstoppable today! The man who goes by ‘Big Roger’ managed to beat an extremely tough final table to become the first player in history to win two World Series of Poker Europe bracelets, and also the first ever French player with two. Roger Hairabedian ultimately beat Erik Seidel heads up and walked away with €148,820.

Plenty of big pros made it to the final table, but Max Greenwood and Mike Watson were knocked out right at start. Matan Krakow made a WSOPE final table for the third straight year, but he as well was no match for Hairabedian. Krakow finished fourth today for €49,784 and the 888 sponsored player once again showed that he can compete with the best in the world.

One of the best in the world is without question Erik Seidel. Seidel has eight WSOP bracelets, more than $18 million in career earnings and a huge collection of trophies. Seidel started the day, and later the heads up, as chip leader but he did not manage to close it out. Seidel took home €92,003 for his second place finish but Hairabedian was the big winner making €148,820 after playing poker for three days here in Paris

The Main Event Has Arrived

2012 WSOPE Main Event Winner, Phil Hellmuth
It feels like we’ve only just arrived in Enghien-les-Bains, but already we’ve already crowned five new WSOP bracelet winners and now the big one is upon us. It’s time for the 2013 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event as the best players in Europe have been joined by a throng of international poker stars to compete for one of the most coveted titles in the game.
Last year it was the legendary Phil Hellmuth who re-wrote the history books to grab bracelet number 13. Hellmuth overcame a field of 420 players to capture the €1,022,376 first place prize. Numbers have been very solid throughout this week so we would suggest that number is likely to be matched, and possibly exceeded this time around.
Hellmuth will no doubt be here to defend his title with the likes of Negreanu, Seidel, Ivey, Esfandiari, Juanda, Grospellier and Greenstein just a handful of the big names that will be competing for the WSOPE Main Event crown.
The €10,450 Main Event offers two opening flights, with the first of those set to kick off at 12pm today. Once again the PokerListings Live Reporting Team will be on deck to bring you all the latest updates from the tournament floor. Stay tuned!

1 MILLION BIG ONE RETURNS IN 2014, CAP RAISED TO 56 PLAYERS

Antonio Esfandiari
By: Arthur Crowson
The richest tournament ever held will return to the World Series of Poker in 2014 and the stakes will be higher than ever.
The second-ever $1 million buy-in Big One for One Drop will take place June 29-July 1 with the maximum number of entrants increased to 56 players this time around.
If the massive tournament hits the cap it will award the biggest first-place prize in the history of poker -- over $20 million dollars.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
10% From Each Buy-In to One Drop Foundation
Once again the charity portion of the tournament will return with $111,111 of every buy-in going towards Guy Laliberté’s One Drop Foundation with no rake taken.

Another big donation to One Drop coming.

"It was a terrific inaugural event in 2012 with ONE DROP raising nearly $5.7 million from the BIG ONE event," said Laliberté.
"There is still a lot of work to be done to ensure access to water for all. I have no doubt that the poker community will once again live up to its reputation for generosity by helping to transform lives sustainably."
In 2012 veteran poker pro Antonio Esfandiari outlasted all 48 entries in the inaugural Big One for One Drop tournament to win $18.3 million
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and become the biggest all-time winner in the history of poker.
The most elite poker players in the world including Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey and Tom Dwan played in the event but so did numerous businessmen such as Laliberte, David Einhorn and Richard Yong.
