So I'm migrating back to trading futures, and I've searched these forums, Google, and Youtube, but can't really find a comprehensive list that has pros and cons of each platform/broker. Can anyone point me in the right direction? If not, does anyone have any recommendations for brokers and platforms?
My needs are:
I like TransAct. They fulfill everything above, except the platform sometimes freezes or gets a bit shaky when the market gets volatile, and especially when I put in like 10 contracts. When it hits the orders, it kinda stalls for a 5-10 seconds sometimes, and if the market is volatile, the price might be like 10 ticks away from the price quoted on the DOM.
Any advice would be great, or any links that point me in the right direction would also be appreciated.
Thanks
My needs are:
- A platform that doesn't charge more than $2 for a round trade per contract (not including NFA fees, etc)
- Fast support to get me out of a trade in case internet/computer goes out. Someone that is on standby at the brokerage that can pick up my call in less than 3 rings 24 hours a day, and a broker where I don't have to go through a menu option to speak to someone directly.
- Bracket Orders for stop loss/profit
- No monthly charges or platform lease fees, or lifetime membership costs for standard features. I'm fine with inactivity fees as I will trade daily
- A drag and drop feature, where I can change buy/sell orders to different levels
- A light platform that isn't clunky like ThinkOrSwim
- A reliable and stable platform that doesn't freeze up when the market gets volatile
- The ability to have the DOM always on top, so that if I open up my browser while I'm in a trade, the browser won't cover up the DOM, but rather, the DOM will always be on top of any window or application that I open.
