imho its nothing special about FA, its not more difficult or easier that TA
its just that FA is for investors, TA is for traders
investor speculate on value fluctuation to which FA applies perfectly, trader speculate on price fluctuation to which TA is applicable
as for the news, and price
one has to understand that the price is in the now
how long market will digest the news and how long the news affect the prices nobody knows
the term that all the news built in the price is correct , with one addition - current price
in five minute t will also be built in the current price , but price will be probably different
news can be traded by traders but not based on its fundamental impact (traders even do not know fundamentals) but as impulse created from this new's fundamental impact
and by the way trend-following on its own is not efficient and never was without ability to predict the beginning and the end of the trend... this goes beyond juts following.. in fact it presumes ability to play sideways movement as well

Plus you have not a clue at all about trend following. Despite me not being a believer it is crystal clear that the entire premise of trend following by the original generators of this concept does NOT rely on the prediction of anything. Trend-following. It's even in the word.

No trend will last forever. No idea when it will break. But if it does break, better get out and keep the profit. Whether it's TA or FA, predicting the future always involve an element of speculation. All methods will fail at times. An exit strategy is always required for all methods. What keep us in this game ? Yes.. capital. So, preserve it. I wish that there is a mirror will show us our ego instead of our face. The closest to that is our P&L account.
