Fulltime trader loner?

Quote from justrading:

He has a weak dependent personality and assumes everyone else is like him.

If he has added valuable insight, that's wonderful. That's not what we are discussing here.

I think Cutten is one of the few actual traders who have been successful on ET

I don't work alone, I constantly have cnbc or Bloomberg on in the background

and for those of us who trade forex, cnbw, Asia Squawk Box (best show on tv) that comes on before the Australian open (6 ET)

5 et in the winter

there are other websites where people mouth off

once you know where they are and who to listen to

you are no longer a loner

as a matter of fact, the guy that works a normal job, is probably more of a loner than the guy that trades
I don't know, maybe they hang out on the "Purchasing Manager Network."

Justrading, why are you commenting on this forum if you don't care what other people think?

You, through your own words and attitude, are proving the very points you're trying to dispute.

You are influenced by others and you depend on that influence, otherwise you wouldn't be here.

Your fanboy devotion is muddying what passes for logic in your mind.

sometimes one has to tell it as it is:
justtrading you were wrong as far as Ghost of Cutten is concerned.
A sincere apology for having a strong ego - not good for trading - does not cost much and goes a long way.
As far as I can read through the lines, Ghost of Cutten knows his stuff and articulates it in a very clear way. Some here - including myself - are looking for people who can challenge the way we see things so as to see where we can improve more.
Thanks for thinking of others.:)

Thing is it really depends on your personality. Some people are more social in general and will always look for social opportunities whether their job is being alone or not. Other people who are more quiet and introverted will more likely become isolated. Those people need to actively seek out social opportunities related to work or not, or risk being lonely.

I find your link to your previous posting very true, i feel the same way, further more, you cannot discuss details of what you have done in your trading, not that it will disclose any secret but their suggestions may affect what you do in your future trading, which may not suit your trading style.

And also feel weird when people ask me how come i'm not working, and i have to scratch my head to answer them, and so develop a habit of avoiding those people i know during day time when i not trading. if i tell them i'm fulltime trader, they will give you one kind of look

If you don't want to end up like this, you need to actively plan new social interactions. Kids and spouse is good, if you lived alone all this time you might end up a little, erm, weird.

When you get to the appropriate stage in your trading development, the need to work 60+ hour weeks will go away and you can work more "normal" hours, treat it like an ordinary job, and concentrate on rebuilding and improving your life outside work. Just don't put it off too long.

Good luck.
