I'm not sure what you are trying to illustrate with that chart you posted. All I see is a bounce at 11079 off of some unidentified moving averages that sure looks great in hindsight.

If you traded this, perhaps you'd be so kind in your post to explain your rationale. Anyone can put up nice charts, its the hard right edge that's tough.
 
While you are at myminitrading, put up a whole shot of TWS so
we can tell if it is a simulator account or not.

You do not have to chop it off you know...:p

Unless, it is a sim-account...:D

It's a game of "find the trade."

He shows you the setup, it's up to you replicate it and figure out how to trade it ...

Uh, that's OK. Me personally, I don't want it.

But if you stuck a 4sma, an 18sma and a 40sma on a 100 tick chart you could probably get similar results.

Just remember, it's just a chart, you'd still have to figure out how to trade it ...

Some of yesterdays downward momentum carried into my first 2 trades today, was very edgy. Also, as I generally do after a bad day I try to mix things up some the next day, so I also have my bot running today.. not sure how smart of an idea that was though....... its yet to make a trade.. HOPEFULLY I dont regret running my bot by the end of the day...

First trade +1 pt
Second trade -8 pts
third trade +14 pts

Net for day +$22
 
No new trades for myself, but my bot has made one trade, and is now up $107... I did something I probally shoudlnt have, which is I just exited the bot's short ES position..... I really shouldn tinker with my automated trading system.... but couldnt resist, may come back to bite me in the butt, as I see it already would have made more money..... There is a reason I automated my strategy.. its so I woudlnt touch the thing!!!! lol
 
You're a genius with the trading bot (uh, assuming you put it together, didn't you???), but you've got to be one of the worst traders to open up a thread here at ET.

That SHORT is about to come in big.

Just work an extra job for 3 - 6 months, build up the capital trade only the ES with the bot with super high margin (like 10k per contract) and let it ride.

Yes, I did build it. I may not be the brightest trader in the world, but programming is somethign I have been doing most of my life. Got lucky in backtesting when I discovered a method that works....

you are also correct I closed that short position way too soon... My bot would be up MAD money right now had I just let it trade uninterrupted by itself. I just saw it was up 100 on a trade and was happy taking that money. The ONLY time I should ever prematurely close the bot's trade is if all of a sudden some news come out that rattles the market. Since the bot can sometimes be slow incorportating a fast change such as that.
