Well we got down to 015 thanks in part to back to back sell programs and have now bounced up to 035.

While I'm not exactly looking for longs today, I'd be getting interested if it gets back to 045 or 050.

On the short side, I can't say that I really expect anything much lower than 015. If it does break that, and I were short, I be hard pressed not to look to cover around 10990.
 
Look at the TICK. Something is telling me to be extremely careful on the long side today. I also wouldnt have too much confidence in a short position here. Looks like the day is pretty much over for me. And guess where I spent virtually the entire morning: the dentist. Coca Cola should come with warning labels...
 
The bot made another trade, and so did I.

Me: +$68
Bot: +$173

So not a bad day... I am enjoying the gains thus far today. Kinda hard knowing how much the bot shoudl have made.... but cant complain when up this much. Tempted to turn the bot off and let it enjoy its 173 dollar day...

I agree with Arthropod that we probably won't see much more today.

If I were you, I'd turn off the bot and book those gains.

You were right on this one boro45, the original call panned out pretty well, the BULLS tried to hold yesterday's lows but it didn't happen.

That's why I DON'T trade what I think, heck, I don't even trade what I see anymore ... I trade my system.

In this case, 4 pts and a nap, and it's time to get ready to go to work again ... in the maintime Frost, this is your thread, so since you're trading bot has much better instincts than you or I, just assign it a cross-over mechanism to tell it when to exit trades, they are too loose for my tastes, but a 20 or 30 or 40 SMA would be fine (it's better than trying to second guess it).

That's the purpose of this thread.

To LEARN from yours (and mine) mistakes.

My biggest mistake is trying to trade in the afternoon session..... dont know why but out of everyday listed in this journal, I think maybe only 1 or 2 of them I actually made money in the afternoon session. The vast majority of days I loose.. and in a lot of cases I actually loose more than I made in the Am and go negative... now down -$87 on the day from my trades, I stoped my bot earlier and have +$173 to show for it...
 
Now down -$153!!!! WTF, how does this seem to happen every afternoon session...!!!! I get choped to death in the afternoon, I am never on the right side of the moves.. in the morning everything works out perfectly fine.... in the afternoon it just tumbles
 
yeah frost, we know.

he boro45, here's what i was looking at that made me think support was coming in and we were gonna have a reversal ... didn't happen today, but i probably wouldn't be playing the short side tomorrow.
