So in some places it's unusually warm and in others it's unusually cold. Hate to break it to ya' but you can find that in any year in all of recorded history. It tells us nothing.
Here in the Chicago area the temperature can swing 40 to 50 degrees in one day. If this had never happened before, or if it only happened once every few hundred years there might be a cause for concern. However, it happens several times a year, every year, year after year. Decade after decade. Century after century. Local extremes are no different than global extremes. Historical, predictable extremes tell us nothing. When it happens we don't fear the end of the world, we simply accept that there can be temperature extremes on occasion. We call that normal.

It's a reasonable question because the events today are blamed on warming by your crowd, even if they repeatedly occurred before it was possible for man to cause the warming. Get it? Didn't think so.

And the models while not perfect have not had "multiple failures". You are deluded by right wing propaganda. The important point is that the earth has not stop warming.

The fact that the models have failed is not propaganda. Certainly they are not perfect, but what they predicted has not come to pass in the time they predicted. Many climatologists have admitted that the models didn't pan out the way they predicted. Any reasonable person, certainly not you, would realize that climate models are going to have issues long term and short term. The further out they go, the more unreliable they become. That doesn't dispute warming, but the timing predictions were certainly wrong. Shit, the climate prediction from noaa busted big time this winter, and that was about as short term a climate forecast as there is. They predicted warmer than usual winter for US.

I'm not opposed to reasonable action, but the US has done, and continues to do far more than anyone else. I don't have to look any further than my electric bill for evidence. I hate pollution, too, and I'm more than happy to pitch in a little or sacrifice a little to reduce that. I simply don't want closed minded radical progressives like you calling the shots. You're fucking certifiable.

Why don't you take your campaign to China where the real offenses are occurring. You can blog all you want from the labor camps, because that's where you'll end up.

I have a suggestion. Why don't you lay out, for those of us who agree on the possibility that man contributes with his Co2 output, what steps you would take if you were in charge (United States only). Include the added costs to the average citizen, knowing all costs will be passed on by fuel industry restrictions and taxes will be increased by gov action. Keep them short and to the point. No cuts and pastes.

How would FC solve the global warming issue assuming man is the primary source. What are you willing to sacrifice?

I'll start. I like solar, but I hate wind mills. They are a blight on the landscape, loud, kill birds, and produce relatively small amounts of energy.

I do, however, like what I read about the fusion breakthrough the other day.

I also am a fan of geothermal in housing.

I'm not willing to live in a city, so I must drive, but am not opposed to high fuel efficiency transportation.

Etc.

So here's your chance to prove your worth. you are the prez. Lay out your plan. Serious proposal. End the name calling and walk the walk. Lay out the personal sacrifices you are currently making, you are willing to make, and what you would impose on society. Want me in your corner? Show me reasonable, affordable solutions.

Do you think that before policy is made that all facts and science is considered and understood first? I mean, policy for something that doesn't exist is pretty silly right? OTOH no policy or weak policy for a large problem is similarly silly.
