I forgot where it was decades back, but taking S&P 500 index then program in prem/discount would give real time ES.

Trouble with trying to do that is $PREM live data is not free either.

True, but if you only need it as a chart reference, it looks fine and it's free. Maybe a couple of points difference, steady. I think is derived from the futures, as it trade out of rth.

Yes it is "free" just like you get free checking if you keep X number of dollars in the account.

Have a zero balance at some point, no longer free.
