Former Turtle Trader and ET Member in Jail?

I think you might be right. I had dinner with him once in Chicago. A very nice guy, couldn't be more normal. I know some people can change in life when they become "activists" for a cause. It can cause them to tap into emotions they never had before. But this is looking more and more like mental illness. He admitted to having only $27 to his name and there are tweets of his crying out for help after he was arrested. I feel really bad.

He had only 27$ to his name???????

what causes was he an activist in? since when?

He worked for the Obama campaign in 2008. Since then he started getting more "involved". He started associating himself with what I think most people would call fringe. I've been following him in LinkedIn for over a decade and so I read his stuff. He is involved in many issues. If you actually read the links I posted he goes into detail on many of them.

I hate to say this, but I've seen the pattern repeat itself with many traders. Traders are very vulnerable to mental illness in part due to the volatility of their wealth and the common lone wolf mentality that traders seem to sponsor. I'm afraid Nitro might have gone down the same road. Mental illness is a very serious disease and once had, it's very had to get rid of. Politics and trading seem to be the siren song for many who are susceptible to the fall.

I had to ask about Curthis Faith "activism", because when I read the threads this is what I first thought :
- the guy has 'crossed' someone, or has 'refused to work' for someone, or has refused to 'bendover' to someone, or has expressed very offensive 'opinions' to someone who takes no prisonners.
- he is going through a classic modus operandus : the abuses suggested ( 'rape in front of male and female law enforcement people', 'cold water technique', 'solitary confinement in an illegal place' ), and mostly the attempts to put him in a psychiatric unit.
I do not believe Curtis Faith has mental illness : he might be expressing what he knows in ways that sounds crazy, but more likely he is being put into a "program".

Going through his timeline:

2009-10: Curtis Faith’s family member speaks out: “In this age of financial mayhem, crackpots and charlatans, my [sibling] holding himself out in a second book as some sort of financial whiz kid, really sickens me. Enough is enough of his lies. He owes a long line of people money, including me. About the only thing he knows about money is how to spend other peoples…Until someone knocks him off his cloud...”

This story is beyond bizarre. There is no way to describe it other then to post the details including his own words. Curtis Faith, one of the famous turtle traders under Richard Dennis as well as author of a book on turtle trading as well as serial entrepreneur has led an interesting life. He use to occasionally post on ET.

Rape? Conspiracy? NSA? Obama? Just read this shit. It's batshit crazy.

His book "Trading From Your Gut" is one of my favorite trading books...

Oh no! I was wondering where Nitro was. Up-till now I had thought rumors of his demise were exaggerated, a joke....

Seriously? Did you READ all the stuff he posted? He said he had a deal to take AAPL private? He wanted to make Taylor Swift a Queen in Nigeria and support her campaign for President. Not as some fantasy, but he claimed to be working with her towards this goal.

Look dude. Mental illness is a serious problem. We all have it somewhere in our families and it's deadly. If someone has it, don't excuse it away, help them!!!!!! Excusing it often leads to suicide.
