Former Turtle Trader and ET Member in Jail?

Now, for those traders who feel, that when a trader has contributed quiet a lot, and is down, that we should come together to help a mate in hard times, let's continue discussing Curthis Faith situation/solution.

Down the line, Curtis Faith will have to get the full long list of people he owes money to. Whoever he really crossed is related to this list. And even if he sorts himself out, all need to be sorted with this person, and all the others down the line. Curtis Faith certainly forgot about them, but clearly one did not.

kinda sounds like you are trying to make this guy out to be a victim.. Maybe that's part of his problem

You can not say to someone when he is down that he is responsible ( his manager could be, one of his mates could be, his "entourage" could be, etc). Each thing in its time. I mention retreatSSSSS.
The first step is to get the person 'stabilised' ( dhamma (dot) org).

Oh.. so you are saying maybe his manager or his mates made him commit burglary, theft of services, etc.. ?

Wow - Curtis Faith. He is one of the first to use computer back testing & automated trading.
Looks like another one bite the dust! Hard to believe, he always cam across as laid back and
seemed like he was smart and humble. Just goes to show 'your worst trade has not happened yet'. None of us are immune from going bust or insane. Hope he bounces back to some degree.
Just watched the John McAfee documentary last night - he had turned into a real life Colonel Kurtz (apocalypse now)

  • 2009-10: Curtis Faith’s family member speaks out: “In this age of financial mayhem, crackpots and charlatans, my [sibling] holding himself out in a second book as some sort of financial whiz kid, really sickens me. Enough is enough of his lies. He owes a long line of people money, including me. About the only thing he knows about money is how to spend other peoples…Until someone knocks him off his cloud, his life will remain one long fantasy of his own fabrication.”

I had the misfortune of reading a Curtis Faith trading book once.
I DID read it, although from the first pages, I felt silly doing so.
But it was plain to me that he was no trader, *knew* he was no trader, and sought to maximize gain from the brand, before it evaporated into the wisp of luck from whence it came.

"Everyone's a genius in a bull market."
So pretentious. Way of the turtles is one of the best trading book I have ever read, and I read a lot.
Who are you by the way?

The free turtle system rules paper that he published around 2003 was amazing.
His first turtle trading book was great.
But his second book was not in my opinion very good and completely forgettable, and is probably the one tommcginnis is referring to in his post.
After his second book i had lost any interest in his third..
