Did you even read what you just posted, and place that into the context of the original posit? If Apple had all manufacturing in the US, why would they have to raise the MSRP more than $1,000 over it's current price? Or even to over $1,000? How does the poster know?

I have a long-term question. Staying in the U.S. is very patriotic and so on. But moving some manufacture to Mexico would make Ford's cars cheaper and therefore more competitive. Now after their decisions they gonna need to come up with some new ideas on how to make their cars competitive.

It wouldn't work for Apple is right.. Profit margins On the iPhone would drop significantly that or they would have to raise the price of their iphones to $1000+ which we all know every fool would still pay a $1000 bucks for a phone thats only worth maybe $175 bucks

You would be a bad businessman. People don't add just the cost but also the margin they take. Do you work for free? Apple wants to make big money, so they will give no discount.

Cost at $175 results in selling prices of $699. So Apple takes the cost x 4.
If cost is $250. Apple will again take the usual margin, so cost x 4. Or $250 x 4 = $1000.

Or do you think that Apple would reduce their margin? If idiots already want to pay cost x 4 , these idiots will pay $1000 too.

Not so sure about that. Average consumers do not know what they are paying over cost. 2x, 3x, 4x. What they fixate on is the price they are paying. If Apple suddenly switched around how they make products internally and they go from $699 to $1099 for the same product, who in their right mind would go for it? How could that be competitively priced when peeps could have similar devices for the aforementioned $699?

Yes, as you say, there are many idiots who are Apple slaves and will follow them over the cliff in being gouged. Apple has ALWAYS been over-priced, since their stupid Apple IIe, due to their proprietary nature. I suppose it is not Apple's fault...They are just charging what the consumer market will bear. It's a real shame people are still falling for it. But would SO MANY people fall for such a huge price increase?
