You got it exactly backwards. The more people want then more companies will jump on the bandwagon and competition will drive prices down to the benefit of the consumer. You are trying to mix stock market economics with general economics. The markets produce nothing. They are numbers on a screen. Indexes are numbers invented and driven by greed..emotion...fear...institutions ..ad nauseam. No product is produced or manufactured or sold. Just the idea of value is created out of thin air and people race to participate and the institutions push the numbers around and again the pop gets screwed.
